THIS WEEK
As you will have noticed, I have not been able to teach you this week or last Thursday and this is a shame but also an opportunity for you to get on with reading.
It should be you goal to complete reading The Handmaid's Tale by the end of term - to be honest it should take you an evening or two to read. We will have a lesson on Monday of next week and in this we will review what you have achieved and look at the written work you have completed so far this term, so please ensure that you have your work with you - ALL OF IT.
YOu should be up to date with all tasks set including those for lessons which you may have missed but for which there are presentations on the blog.

THURSDAY 26th APRIL
A)
Lady Bracknell: “I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square.”
Analyse the quotation (word and sentence level) and explain how humour is created. How does Wilde explore Victorian attitudes in through the character of Lady B.
Write your answer on your blog in detail using PEE.
B) Write a speech which Lady Bracknell could have given a parents/teachers meeting at the school which Gwendolen attended . Ensure that you reflect her views and her language. WRITE ON THE BLOG

IMPORTANCE
A reminder to please complete the work set on Monday by tomorrows lesson and to ALL have your copies of Importance with you. In fact it is highly recommended that you have both plays with you in every lesson as we will be revising both and looking at ways in which you can get the best marks for both sections of the exam on both texts.

I have been reading your work and it is clear that some of you have made a good effort to upload your work. Sadly, I have not been able to leave many comments due to some technical difficulties.
I will be adding some general comments to this post in the next couple of days as well as uploading the latest presentation on Scene 7 which contains your homework.
